I stumbled across Serurs when I was researching rugs and looking to purchase one. After buying a semi-antique rug and antique rug at estate sales in my area, I looked to Serurs to sale my trade up rugs. Listing a rug on Serurs went smoothly and required only a few good pictures. From those pictures, Serurs, provided an appraised value which was very close to what the rug sold for. From Serurs, one can expect professional communication, appraisal ad solid expertise. This was a refreshing experience in dealing with a rug expert.

I offer my sincere thanks to Gabriel for a great transaction. Mine was what I would describe as a large purchase involving 2 rugs. Gabriel is very knowledgeable and I am extremely happy to have found another person who shares a passion for these wonderful works of art. If you are visiting this site, and have concerns about transacting through or with Gabriel, please ask him to put you in touch with me personally so I can put you at ease and explain what a wonderful way this is to purchase/sell rugs. Many Thanks! RHR

Thank you for your quick turn around on our rug appraisal. I appreciate that I could do everything via email since I have a young child and it made my life so much less complicated. Thank you.

I searched online for a reputable rug appraisal company and was happy to find Serur's. Their site was easy to use, I received the appraisal quickly and it was very conscientious. The price is reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Rarely does one have the good fortune to interact with someone who is completely honest and who truly appears to have no vested interest. I called Serurs for information on my rug and was told I could list it on the website at no cost to me either in advertising fees or commission on the sale price of the rug. It sold within a few weeks for the price recommended by Serurs. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending this company to anyone in the business of buying or selling rugs.

I recently contacted Mr Chalkon asking for information on two rugs that have been in my family for years. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and gave me the exact information needed. He also got back to me very quickly and I appreciate so much the service that he offers without putting a price tag on it.:) Thanks so much!

We had purchased an exquisite hand knotted Persian Tabriz, Mahi design while stationed overseas & enjoyed it immensely. While we had enjoyed for nearly 14 years it was time to sell it. We had the rug appraised in the Las Vegas area & felt confident we would be able to recoup what had purchased the rug for & perhaps then some. Not knowing where to start, we found Serur’s Antique Rugs online & felt there was no risk in listing our rug with their site. Mr. Gabrial Chalkon was excellent to work with & we felt he appraised the rug fairly and established a reasonable selling price. The rug was listed for some time & finally we received a call from a nice gentleman inquiring on the rug. After some negotiations we sold him the Tabriz & a silk Qum rug which had not been listed on the site. All in all we are satisfied customers & would definitely refer anyone wanting to sell a beautiful rug to Serur’s for help & guidance. Thank you!

I have had a wonderful old Persian Bakhtiari rug for about 10 years, and I wanted to sell it, but wasn't sure why I was told by a local dealer that it wasn't worth much (certainly not as much as I paid for it at a Georgetown yard sale). I love the rug, and could not understand why it was devalued to such an extent. So I sent photos to Serurs, and they confirmed that it was not top quality, and that I would not be able to get anywhere near what I paid for it. Then I asked them why this was? Was it machine-made in Hong Kong? And Mr. Gabrial Chalkon very kindly told me that it was indeed a handmade Persian Bakhtiari rug, but the materials were not top quality, This is not the Cinderella story I had hoped for, but I am very appreciative of Serurs's honesty and Mr. Chalkon's willingness to discuss this with me and explain why it was not very valuable. From now on, when I find an Oriental rug at a yard sale, I'll take photos first and email them to Serurs to get an appraisal before I fall in love with the colors and get out my checkbook. My very best regards, M.E. Carew

Serur's Antique Rugs were very helpful and courteous in my quest to determine the history of an antique carpet that has been in my family for some time. They were knowledgeable and friendly, a rare combination today. They assisted me in finding out what kind of rug it is and where it was, most likely, from. Thank you very much for your time and effort. Much appreciated.

I had a rug that I wished to sell, but I knew very little about identifying and selling rugs. I emailed the Serur website, and thanks to Gabriel Srour I was able to find out about my rug, and was able to list it on Serur's website. I eventually sold the rug via this website. Thanks to all involved in running this website! Richard Martin

I would like to thank Mr. Serur for giving his time and expertise on some questions that I had with a rug. His knowledge and helpfullness went far beyond any expectations... . I have come to realize that to appreiate any hand woven persian, oriental, or other rug's, one has tyo appreciate the pain-stakeing time and effort that which that rug was conceived. Thank you again and I will get back to you soon. John

Thank you for helping me figure out what we have and what it's worth. I've contacted other companies and they wanted to charge me for the information you gave to us freely. I truly appreciate your help.

Gentlemen, Yesterday, I completed the sale of the large Semi-antique Kirman rug to Mr. N., who contacted me several weeks ago after seeing the rug on your website. The sale was competed for $ 5,800 less more than 95% of the website price which you listed at $ 5,995. He provided a cashier's check for the full proceeds and will use the rug to furnish the new house he is decorating in the Washington, DC area. I wanted to compliment your organization on its assistance in this matter, both in helping to value the rug and to show the rug online for several months until I had been contacted by potential buyers. In fact I had been contacted by several people through your website. If you ever need a positive recommendation on the posiettive value which you have added to the cumbersome process of selling an Oriental carpet, I would be happy to attest to that value

Thank you for your kind and consumer oriented approach. The information you provided was very helpful. I have spoken with other dealers, and they were neither patient nor open minded. I appreciate your kindness. In future, if a persian rug is in my interests, you will be the first I call.
